the Local Light

No. 5

Hey, hello! I’m the Lauren behind Photography by Lauren Lindsay— shocking, I know! Two years ago I began taking modeled pictures while working at Country Lace Boutique. I had no intention of becoming a photographer, I was just trying to fill a need for the boutique at the time. Unexpectedly, I fell in love. I quickly began booking portrait sessions, practicing and learning more every day. Through photography I realized my passion for marketing— photos, styling, social media, ads, all of it! I changed my major to Marketing Management and haven’t looked back.

I’m currently in my last year (hopefully semester) of college and cannot wait to make my passion a full time career. My current goal is to work for a large corporation after graduation, such as Anthropologie, as a marketing specialist or content creator. After working for a credible corporation and gaining valuable insight, I plan to own my own marketing agency and pursue all avenues of creative content production. I LOVE supporting small businesses and want to make this my life. Operating my own firm will allow me to help businesses look and be the best they can and help everyone around them to see what makes them special.

This is why I began the Local Light. The mission of this project is to shine light on local businesses so our community will feel more connected to them and see what’s special about each individual business. To do this, I am offering discounted photography and advertising services for local businesses. This fun and unique opportunity shines light on our local businesses helping to gain them positive publicity, builds my portfolio and ultimately my dream. It’s a super fun and unique experience for all involved. Of course I love the branding shoots I’ve been doing for the Local Light, but I have been surprised to find the most fulfillment in meeting the businesses owners and learning about their passions. This little project has blossomed quickly beyond anything I originally imagined and I am SO grateful for all of your support of these small businesses, including mine.
